The Hummingbird Special is a Montana-built Hummingbird at a lower price than the Standard. It has the traditional square-shoulder body with a solid Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides and scalloped X-bracing. The concert-depth body is a little thinner, which tightens the bass and makes it easier to hold.
The utile neck has a Round profile and a rosewood fingerboard with a 12 inch radius. An L.R. Baggs Element Bronze pickup with a soundhole volume control is built in, and Grover Rotomatic tuners keep it in tune.
