The J-45 Special is a simpler, satin-finished take on Gibson's best-known acoustic. It has a Sitka spruce top over solid mahogany back and sides, and the warm, even voice that has made the J-45 a songwriter's guitar for generations.

The utile neck has a SlimTaper profile and a rosewood fingerboard. An L.R. Baggs Element Bronze pickup makes it ready for the stage, and Grover Rotomatic tuners hold pitch well.
