Martin Retro strings are wound with monel, a nickel-based alloy used on acoustic strings decades ago. The tone is mellower and drier than bronze, and many players feel it brings out the natural sound of the wood.

Monel resists corrosion well, so these keep their character a long time. Light gauge 12-54.
